Lucky Frame Ltd was founded in 2008 by artist, musician, and sound designer Yann Seznec, also known as The Amazing Rolo.
The company was born out of the success of the Wii LoopMachine, creative music software for Nintendo Wii remotes that Yann created whilst studying for an MSc in Sound Design from the University of Edinburgh. Since the founding of Lucky Frame the LoopMachine has grown into a family of software focusing on fun and intuitive motion-controlled music tools for the Wii. It has been featured in Make Magazine, The Independent, Develop, Engadget, and more, as well as a hilarious appearance on the BBC for Dragons’ Den.
More recently, Lucky Frame acted as a consultant for the development of a remixing console game. We are currently working on several iPhone applications including Mujik, available on the iTunes store now.
We have been supported by the Edinburgh Pre-Incubator Scheme, NESTA, and the British Council. The company is based in Edinburgh, Scotland, although we travel an awful lot.
